Over the summer, a team of hard-working volunteers cleared out a great deal of rotten material from the History Room, the Kitchen, the Reading Room and the Basement. This culminated in a busy weekend at the end of August, stripping the History Room entirely. The working party even carefully removed masses of ivy that was climbing the Hall’s outer walls and invading the Reading Room, bringing yet more damp in, and cleared a large area in the basement beneath the Reading Room.

A skip full of rubbish and rubble has gone, and the remaining scrap metal outside the Hall has now been collected.
