As the fundraising and building work progresses, regular reports from the Chairman will appear here – along with any other news we have to share!
Grant Funding Application Success- We recently applied via West Devon Borough Council Community Hall Capital Grants Scheme.
We asked for funding towards a new kitchen for the village hall, asking for a total of £21888 against a total cost including VAT of £ 27360 , with us match funding the balance of £5472 from our reserves.
We are delighted to share that our bid was succesful!
The panel received a wide range of applications and was keen to support as many as possible. The panel considered our application to be a strong demonstration of local community action and therefore awarded us the full amount requeested.
A huge thankyou to Helen Foster of Outsourcery Services who wrote our winning grant application on a no fee basis- we couldn’t have done this without you!
Thanks also to the Community Development Team at WDBC who sat to make the difficult decisions as to who would be awarded the funding for this round that was over subscribed.
The committee met on the 22nd of October to discuss how to move this project forwards and are hopeful that, lead times pending, and a fair wind, we might have a new kitchen fully signed off and functioning early in the New Year.
The work will be awarded to a local VAT registered company who provided the best value quotation for our needs.
Thanks also to everyone who has contributed to our fundraising, who put us in the position that we could increase our chances by offering the 20% match funding. Every £5 here and there has made a huge difference!
Thankyou!!
